Green Street Jazz has been together since about 2016 in various forms.  At first we were playing at a small bookstore on Green Street in Pasadena, hence the name.  We play jazz standards and some originals, but the real magic happens in the imaginative and grooving improvisation that happens among the musicians.

The group is presently made up of: Ron Cyger on sax, Paul Ahern on keys, Dave Askren on guitar, Jim Lownes on bass, and Kenji Terejima on drums.  Between us we have over a half dozen jazz albums, played in the top nightclubs and jazz spots in the LA area, and have toured locally and in Japan.

Dave is coming out with his latest album, “Denver Sessions” in March and Ron is working on his second album in collaboration with Brent Butterworth (former bass player with this group), yet to be named…  We are taking suggestions!  We are all busy playing in various SoCal locations, but if you would like to get notice of future performances, please email us at: GreenStreetJazz@gmail.com.
